We loooooove a red lip. Always have, always will. It’s one element you can reliably throw on your face and feel a surge of instant transformation. Empowering is really the best way to describe the side effect of wearing a crimson lip, it makes one feel ready to face the day (or night). And beauty pros turn to it regularly because it looks amazing on EVERYONE, regardless of age or skin tone. Plus, there’s the fact that it has the ability to simultaneously draw focus away from anything that might seem less than perfect. When accompanied by any of our fave red lip finds below, tired eyes or a lacklustre complexion will seem to fade into the background. Ain’t no one noticing anything else! While the look remains a classic it’s also exciting to see how it is reinvented every season with changes of texture and tone. On FW19 runways, the red lip appeared cheery, vibrant and with a heavy sheen at Fendi, while over at Jonathan Simkhai and Louis Vuitton deep tones were precisely executed with a matte finish.
